In the spring of 2021, the Jemal Nebez Foundation was presented with a beautiful logo, an ascending sheet of paper carrying the first name of our namesake with his last name as base and  a peppy underline. We find it symbolically successful and thank our gifted friend Puya.

We would also like to acknowledge the work done by friends during the summer and fall of 2021 on an emerging book. It has not yet been published, but the work must at least be acknowledged. First, M.S.Bedirxan wrote an introduction for this book together with Kaveh Ghoreishi. Then, he contacted Avesta Publishing House in the North  of Kurdistan and was able to encourage Abdullah Keskin’s interest in the project. In another context, Mr. Bedirxan helped with proofreading a text in Latin script Kurdî. He also introduced us to Mr. Sherif Ozberk, who assisted us with both versions of Kurdish کوردی and Kurdî.
In 2021, we also enjoyed the substantial assistance from the so-called master list team, consisting of Sirwan Renas, Herman Salari, Rezan Abdollahi, and Veman Lineva. This master list was a present to Jemal Nebez for his 80th birthday, then as a Word document that soon served as outline for a showcase of Jemal’s work on his website, which still exists today https://www.jemalnebez.org/jemalnebez_literatur.html. More versatile (than lists formatted in Word) are Excel tables/lists. Thanks to the team Sirwan-Rezan-Herman, Veman the master list is now available in excel table format and complete in both Kurdish versions (in Kurdî + کوردی). They also translated the list into Persian, as well in excel table format. For the master list, and its importance for our Longterm Project, click [here].

In the spring of this year we were able to entrust Sirwan Renas as the organizer of the first award of the Jemal Nebez Science Award. This was done following the approval of the German authorities concerning the procedure we outlined to them and to which they did not have any objections from a legal point of view. Sirwan has not been assigned with this task for long and there is nothing definite to be reported so far. Nevertheless, we are happy to announce his commitment as an independent organizer of the Jemal Nebez Award.
